Google is finally entering the market of cloud storage – a little late according to some analysts.

‘Google Drive’ will be facing tough competition from already established cloud providers such as Dropbox and Microsoft SkyDrive.

With 5GB of free storage anyone can try out Google’s new venture, ensuring it really is suited to them before purchasing. Once you reach your 5GB limit you will be encouraged to upgrade as explained on Google’s official blog:

“You can choose to upgrade to 25GB for $2.49/month, 100GB for $4.99/month or even 1TB for $49.99/month. When you upgrade to a paid account, your Gmail account storage will also expand to 25GB.”Google

It certainly does look exciting – I guess we’ll have to see how it goes.
