Natwest Glitch Causes Customers Lose Access to Money

Some Natwest customers are unable to access cash paid into their accounts – this is due to a glitch as explained by Natwest:

“Unfortunately we are once again experiencing technical issues with our systems and account balances have not updated properly overnight. This means where money has gone into a customers account, there may be a delay in it appearing on their balance.”

This glitch means that customer balances aren’t updating when money is paid into their account, meaning that they are unable to withdraw the cash or pay any bills that are due.

Whilst Natwest promises that “Customers won’t be left out of pocket” it is unclear if customers will have any fees applied from failed direct debits waived.
